Few people are meant to be angelic ,just like Don Ritchie , who ask suiciding people to have a cup of tea with him, and with his kindheartedness, people giveaway idea of suicide and start their lives with a new view and vision, so what other than an angel, we should call such a person.

Popularily known as the Guardian Angel , the Don Ritchie is now 83, and says he has lot of time, and he keeps and eye on cliff. Don Ritchie lives in a street right across The Gap , a rocky cliff at the top of Sydney Harbour.
The Gap is considered as Australia's most notorious suicide destination.So whenever, he finds anything abnormal at the street, he just walks ahead to save a life.He is saving lives since last 45 years and so far he saved nearly 150 lives. Though he has not been successful in saving few lives.
So how do he convinces would be jumpers, who climb the rock after thousands of thoughts. But Don Ritchie knows how to do it, as he knows the would be suiciders are highly frustrated and depressed, so he talks them few kind words and invite them for a coffee with him and a conversation.He says he always talk to them with a smile and in a friendly manner.
The Gap has been known as a place for suicide since 1800 . It has just a one metre fence.Woolahra Council applied for a 2.1 million Australian Dollar funding to build a higher fence. The council named Ritchie and Moya (wife) as 2010's Citizen of the Year.
